Essential oils are extracted from plant material whereas “fragrance oils or synthetic fragrances”, sometimes referred to as “parfum”, “fragrance”, or “nature identicals”, are typically made from synthetically created chemicals compounds. The majority of synthetic fragrances are derived from petrochemicals and may produce allergic reactions, cause scent sensitivities or undesirable hormonal effects – especially in children.
